CASPER ALCOVA IRRIGATION DISTRICT
Welcome to Casper Alcova Irrigation District! CAID was formed with the United States Bureau of Reclamation and was known as the “Casper Project” until 1937. Irrigation water was not diverted into the Casper Canal until 1946.

Today, CAID manages the 213.79-mile canal that delivers water to 643 parcels of land comprising over 24,000 acres in Natrona County. The district’s water comes from stored water from the Alcova Reservoir.

CAID is proud to be a part of the agricultural landscape of central Wyoming. Guided by our five-member Board of Commissioners, we develop and implement water policies that align with our purpose, “shareholders, board members, management, and employees work together as stewards in a responsive and courteous manner to maximize the efficiency of our resources for future generations.”
